Section of rat hippocampus stained with rabbit polyclonal antibody to the serotonin transport (SERT) RPCA-SERT. Section is counterstained with monoclonal antibody to myelin basic protein (MBP) MCA-7G7 in green. The SERT antibody stains a network of very fine beaded and non-myelinated processes which originate in the raphe nucleus and spread throughout the brain.
